Lauki Halwa (लौकी का हलवा) 【瓠瓜甜品】

My aunt Annie planted some vegetables and called for me to pick a few from her garden.  I was shocked by the bottle squash she planted, it was so long that it is even higher than my 8 year old!

I used 1/3 of the squash to make Lauki Halwa and it turned out really good.

去年夏天阿姨让我到她家拿点她自己种的蔬菜 , 结果我一去到就被她拿出来的一根瓠瓜吓到了.
阿姨钟的瓜居然比我儿子还要高! 真正的厉害.

我把1/3的瓠瓜拿来做这个俊爹很爱吃的甜点 Lauki Halwa。成色很好,味道也很棒噢!

My son and the Squash/儿子和阿姨种的瓜

500 g of Bottle Squash
1/2 cup of sugar
3-4 tbsp of  Clarified Butter/Ghee
2 Cup of Whole milk
1/4 tsp of Cardamom seeds
1 tbsp of chopped Almond

500 克 左右的 瓠瓜
1/2 杯 的 白糖
3-4 大勺 的 酥油 (Ghee)
2 杯 全脂牛奶
1/4 小勺 的 豆蔻籽 (Cardamom)
1 大勺 切碎的 杏仁

1. Peel and shred the bottle squash, cook it in a pot with clarified butter until translucent.

2. Add cardamom seeds and milk and cook at medium heat until thickened.

3. Add sugar and continue cooking until the halwa reaches the consistency desired. Not too runny and not too thick.

4. Garnish with some chopped almond before serving.

1. 把瓠瓜削皮擦丝,和酥油一起入锅煸炒至透明。

2. 加入豆蔻籽(Cardamom seeds),倒入牛奶继续煮至浓稠。

3. 加入糖调味,继续煮至粘稠即可。吃的时候洒点切碎的杏仁点缀。
