Raita is a kind of condiment that goes with almost every Indian dishes. It is believed that it aids digestion and is very high in nutrients.
This tomato raita is easy to make and taste very well, a good side dish indeed.
Ingredients:(3-4 servings)
1 cup Plain Yogurt
1/3 cup of water/milk
1 tsp Sugar
1 Medium size tomato (cut into small pieces)
1/4 onion (chopped)
Seasoning:
1/2 tsp Salt
A pinch of cummin powder (Roasted) Optional
A pinch of chilli powder Optional
1.Whisk together 1/3-1/2 cup of water/milk with yogurt and sugar.
2. Chopped onion and tomato, mix it with yogurt, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3. Season with salt, roasted cumin powder and chilli powder before serving. Add some chopped coriander if you prefer.
