Oven Baked Chicken 65 【印度65号香辣鸡块】


Chicken 65 is a very tasty starter to go with beer, the original recipe called for deep frying and I am definitely not a big fan of deep frying especially during winter when the smell of cooking could linger for hours....

I made this batch using oven!

Chicken 65 为什么叫做 chicken 65,在印度有很多传说,最出名的一个就是这个食谱要65天的时间来准备,另外一个传说是这个食谱是1965年创造的,还有一个说法是1965年打战的时候印度士兵发明的一个简便食物。。

然而我个人觉得最可信的还是--这个食谱原来是兵营里食堂餐牌第65号的菜肴,因为很美味可口,所以大家点菜的时候就点chicken No.65,久而久之,就成了Chicken 65.

原配方是要加红色素和入锅油炸的,我加了红曲汁出来的颜色味道和在餐厅里吃的一样。

Ingredients:
4 pieces of chicken thigh (Cut into 2 inches pieces)

Marinates:
2 tbsp of Plain Yogurt
2 tsp of Light Soy Sauce
1 tsp of Ginger Garlic Paste
1 tsp of Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala
1 tbsp of Lime juice/lemon juice
A pinch of pepper powder
Salt to taste (1 tsp)

材料:

鸡肉(thigh)4块,切成 2寸左右的肉块

腌料:
原味酸乳酪(Plain Yogurt) – 2 tablespoons
酱油 – 2 teaspoons
蒜蓉姜蓉- 1 teaspoon
辣椒粉 1/2茶匙
黄姜粉一点点
Garam masala – 1/2 teaspoon
柠檬汁 - 1 teaspoon
胡椒粉一点
盐适量
红曲汁 1 小勺

沾粉:(混合以下所有材料)
面粉 2 tablespoon
粟米粉 1 tablespoon
baking soda 一点点 (很少,就1/10茶匙)
盐和胡椒粉一点点



1. Marinate the chicken pieces with ingredients mentioned, and leave it in the fridge for 1-3 hours.

2. Lightly oiled a baking pan and spread chicken pieces over it.

3. Broil the chicken using broil function in the oven, or bake at 500 F, the highest temperature your oven has for 10 minutes, take out and turn the chicken pieces, bake/broil for another 5-8 minutes until slightly charred.

首先把鸡肉块和所有的腌料腌好,放冰箱里1-3个小时。

然后烤箱预热475度,把鸡肉块都沾上沾粉,排在parchment paper上,入烤箱烤12分钟,然后翻面,再烤12分钟,马上拿出来用kitchen towel吸干表面的油

香辣爽口的chicken 65。是配啤酒的好东西喔。。

 注:我加了一小勺红曲汁腌鸡块,所以颜色偏红,你也可以用食用色素。

Note:you can also deep fry the chicken pieces.

  1. Similar to you, I also dislike the lingering smell of deep fried food in the kitchen. I find frying fish is the worst. The smell lasts till the next day! And it's not even winter here.
