Mixed Lentil Soup (Dal Tadka)

Dal is a staple dish in most Indian families and is generally eaten with rice or rotis (Indian flat-bread). Lentils are also a good source of protein.

Since I have many types of lentils and pulses at home, I liked to mixed them up and cook, it is nutritious and tasty!

这个豆子汤是很家常的一道印度菜,豆子是素食者摄取蛋白质的最大来源,所以一般的印度素食者每天都会做各个不同豆子的浓汤和面饼,米饭还有菜肴一起吃。

我今天用了几个不同的豆类做了一个杂豆汤,味道很好喔!

Bak Kut Teh Noodle 【肉骨茶面】


I made Bak Kut Teh day before and was having plenty leftover, so I made this delicious and healthy Bak Kut Teh Noodle for lunch. Its simple and healthy, not to mentioned its yummy!

前天做了一大锅的肉骨茶,剩下的昨天做了一个肉骨茶面,特别地简单,又好吃。

Bak Kut Teh 【药膳】肉骨茶

I bought a bunch of Bak Kut Teh herbs this time around when I visited Malaysia. 

I came back and gave it out to many of my friends as souvenir, I later came to realised that what comes so natural to me as a Malaysia may be a puzzle to others.

My friends don't know how to make Bak Kut Teh! So here it is the recipe for them.


去年回乡过年的时候妈妈特别让药材铺配了好多的肉骨茶料包让我带回美国送朋友,茶包是送出去啦,可大家要食谱呢。

答应了吃喝饭团的朋友们要做个肉骨茶的帖子。趁今天下雪。我就做个肉骨茶御寒吧

Mint Tea 【薄荷茶】


This was made during the peak of summer. It was more than 90 F today and I had absolutely no appetite for anything. I walked out to my garden during hot afternoon. Clipped a few stems of sweet peppermint to make this mint tea, and sweetened with honey. 

With a good book at hand... my afternoon is just perfect !

这两个星期我们这里白天都是90F以上了,热得都不想吃饭。每天傍晚就是一盘沙拉或者几片西瓜对付着过。这天气却特别适合一些消暑的植物生长,我种的两盆薄荷,都长得很茂盛。在炎热的午后,做一杯冰冻的薄荷茶,配上一小块绿豆饼,手握一本好书。哪儿都不想去呢!
