Mixed Lentil Soup (Dal Tadka)


Dal is a staple dish in most Indian families and is generally eaten with rice or rotis (Indian flat-bread). Lentils are also a good source of protein.

Since I have many types of lentils and pulses at home, I liked to mixed them up and cook, it is nutritious and tasty!


这个豆子汤是很家常的一道印度菜,豆子是素食者摄取蛋白质的最大来源,所以一般的印度素食者每天都会做各个不同豆子的浓汤和面饼,米饭还有菜肴一起吃。

我今天用了几个不同的豆类做了一个杂豆汤,味道很好喔!


Ingredients:
1 tbsp Moong dal
1 tbsp Urad Dal
1 tbsp Toor Dal
1 tbsp Masoor Dal/Lentil
1 tbsp French Lentil
1/2 Bombay Onion cut into pieces
1/2 tomato cut into cubes
1/2 carrot or some green beans cut into pieces
2 green chilies (Slice length wise)
1/4 tsp Tamarind paste

Seasoning:
Salt to Taste
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder

For Tadka:
4-5 fenugreek seeds
1-2 dried chilies (Optional)
4-5 curry leaves
1/4 tsp Cummin seed
1/4 tsp Mustard seed
1/2 tsp Chili Powder
1 -2 tbsp Cookng Oil


材料:
1 tbsp 绿豆瓣 (Moong dal)
1 tbsp 小黑豆瓣 (Urad Dal)
1 tbsp 黄豌豆瓣 (Toor Dal)
1 tbsp 扁豆 (Masoor Dal/Lentil)
1 tbsp 法国扁豆 (French Lentil)
1/2 只中型紫洋葱 (Bombay Onion)切块
1/2 只 番茄切块
1/2 根胡萝卜/几根四季豆/几块菜花 切块
2 只小青椒
1/4 茶匙罗望子膏

调味料:
盐适量
1/4 tsp 黄姜粉 (Turmeric Powder)
红油(Tadka)材料:
4-5颗葫芦巴
1-2只辣椒干 (Optional)
4-5片咖喱叶
1/4 tsp 孜然
1/4 tsp 芥菜籽 (Mustard Seeds)
1/2 tsp 辣椒粉
1 -2 tbsp 素油





1. Washed the mixed lentils and place it in a pressure cooker, add 2 cups of water, add in the onion, tomato, green chili, vegetables, tamarind paste, turmeric powder and salt. Pressure cook for 10 minutes, do not release the pressure immediately, let it release naturally.

2. Meanwhile, prepare the Tadka. In a small cookware or a microwavable bowl, add the fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, cumin seeds and mustard seed. Add 1-2 tbsps of cooking oil, heat it up on a stove if using cookware or microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds if using a bowl, add the chili powder, stir well and microwave for another 30-45. The tadka is ready.

3. Open the pressure cooker and stir in the Tadka, serve warm with bread or rice.


1. 把所有的豆子洗干净,加两大杯水,加入切块的洋葱,番茄,划开的辣椒,蔬菜,罗望子汁,黄姜粉,盐,高压10分钟后,不要放气,让高压锅自然出气就好了。

2. 个时候做红油(Tadka),在一口小锅里或者一个小瓷碗里放入葫芦巴,咖喱叶,孜然和芥末籽。加入1-2大匙素油,如果用小锅就炉子上加热,如果用瓷碗就在微波炉里加热1分钟30秒,然后拿出来,加入辣椒粉,再微波30-45秒。就成了红油。

3. 把红油淋到刚刚做好的豆子汤上,搅拌均匀,就好了。
