Crockpot Applesauce

A good friend of mine once told me that applesauce is a good substitute for butter in Cake, and makes very moist cake.

As I have so many cooking apples lying around in the house, I decided to make a batch of applesauce, and later when I have time bake a applesauce cake!

Ingredients:
10  Medium size apple (Golden delicious, Jonagold, Granny Smith, Mcintosh any cooking apples will do)
1/2 cup brown/white sugar (You can adjust to your taste accordingly)
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Cinnamon powder
1/2 Cup Apple Cider
2 tbsp Lemon Juice

Peel and cored apple, sliced, and put it in crock-pot (Slow cooker),Add all other ingredients and cook at high for 1 hour, turn to low and continue cooking for 2-3 hours.

When it is done, mash with a potato masher for chunks, if you prefer smoother texture, use a immersion blender or blender to blend the cooked apple.

The applesauce could be store in the fridge for 2-3 weeks, and about 1 year in freezer!

So here it is, ready for my cake!
