Dal is comfort food for many Indians, and this simple dal recipe could be made and serve in under 20 minutes, time saving healthy food indeed。
1/2 Cup split moong bean （Washed）
1/2 Carrot or any vegetables of your liking
1/4 Tomato （Cubed）
2-3 Green Chili
1/2 tsp Tamarind Paste
1/8 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp Cooking Oil
1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tsp Chili powder
4-5 Curry Leaves (Optional)
Clean the moong bean and add about 1 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 tsp of tamarind paste, turmeric powder and 1 tsp salt.
Cut the vegetables in bite size add into the dal, pressure cook for 8 minutes, let the pressure out naturally, open the pressure cooker when gas releases, stir it well.
To make tadka (red oil), place all the spices (beside chili powder) and oil in a microwaveable bowl, microwave for 2 minutes, take it out and add chili powder, wait for 2-3 minutes before pouring over the bean soup.
Stir well and it is good to serve.
