Happy Chinese New Year 【富贵萝卜花】Blossoming Rich


It is the time of the year again, it is Chinese New Year!! 

Here is one of my Chinese New Year dishes to wish all my family and friends a very Happy Lunar New Year of 2020!

1 根 绿萝卜/白萝卜
300 克 肉末 (或里脊肉)
1 只 鸡蛋

1 小勺 酱油/生抽
1 小勺 蚝油
1 小勺 料酒/米酒
1/2 小勺 鱼露   或 一点鸡精粉
1 小勺 香油/芝麻油
1 大勺 芡粉/薯粉
适量 食盐

1 Green or White Radish
300 g Minced Meat
1 egg

For seasoning:
1 tsp Soy sauce
1 tsp Oyster sauce
1 tsp Chinese cooking wine
1/2 tsp of fish sauce  
1 tsp of sesame oil
1 tbsp of corn starch
Salt to taste
A little pepper powder
A little grated ginger

1. 把绿萝卜洗净削皮,绿色的部分切成1-2厘米的薄片。

2. 把萝卜片泡到水里,微波炉里加热2-3分钟,或滚水里汆烫30秒,这个步骤是为了软化萝卜片,增加韧性。

3. 把里脊肉剁成肉末, 姜磨成蓉加入肉末里,把所有调味料加入拌匀腌制30分钟。

4. 取一片萝卜片,中间摆上一小勺肉末,稍微合起成U形摆到盘子里,继续相同步骤把箩卜片和肉末都组合好,围着一个盘子摆成一圈。

5. 把萝卜肉丸入蒸炉里蒸6分钟,取出中间部分磕入一只鸡蛋,继续入蒸笼蒸6分钟。取出放点红辣椒或青葱装饰即可。


1. Clean and peel the radish, slice the radish thinly to around 1-2 mm in thickness. 

2. Soak the sliced radish in water and microwave it for 2-3 minutes, you can also blanch the radish for 30 seconds in boiling water. This step is to soften the radish which helps to retain the shape of it without breaking later.

3. Add grated ginger and all the seasoning ingredients to the minced meat, mix well and marinate the meat for 30 minutes.

4. Take a slice of radish, place 1 tsp of minced meat in the middle, half fold the radish to form an U shape. Place the radish and minced meat in a small plate, repeat the steps to make enough radish and meat around the plate.

5. Steam the radish and meat for 6 minutes in the steamer at high, take the plate out and crack one egg in the middle, steam the radish and meat again for 6 minutes until the meat cooked. Garnish with red chili and scallion.

Note:I steam the radish and meat twice because I do not want my egg to be overcooked, if you do not mind the egg, you can steam the egg together with the radish and meat for 12 minutes at a stretch.
