Tomato Rice (Thakkali Sadam)香辣番茄饭



I finally harvest the tomatoes in my garden, it tasted so good, so I made some tomato rice with it.

种的番茄收成了,味道好好,就做了番茄饭,喜欢柠檬饭的朋友可以试试这个番茄饭喔,也很爽口开胃。

Ingredients:
1 cup Basmati rice, washed, cooked and let cool
1 large ripe tomato, chopped 
1 green chili, chopped
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tbsp of Yellow split pea
1 tbsp of Urad dal
2 tbsp of frozen peas

Seasoning:
1/2 tsp Salt (or to your taste)
a pinch of asafoetida
1/2 tsp Chili powder 
1 tsp Coriander powder 
1/2 tsp Cumin powder 
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder 
1/2 tsp Mustard seed 
Handful of curry leaves or Coriander leaves

材料:
1 杯 印度Basmati香米,做成米饭,冷却备用
1 只 番茄切碎或者搅拌成糊
1 只 青辣椒 切碎
1/2 只 洋葱 切碎
1 大勺 黄豌豆瓣
1 大勺 Urad dal(印度黑豆瓣)

2 大勺 冷冻豌豆

调味:
1 撮 阿魏胶(asafoetida)
1/2 小勺 辣椒粉 (Chili powder) 
1 小勺 芫荽粉 (Coriander powder) 
1/2 小勺 孜然粉 (Cummin powder) 
1/2 小勺 黄姜粉 (Turmeric powder)
1/2 小勺 芥菜籽 
1 把 咖喱叶 或香菜(芫荽)

盐适量





1. Cook one cup of basmati rice in rice cooker or a cooker. Let cool.

2. Heat up 2 tbsps oil in a pan, add a pinch of Asafoetida,curry leaves,mustard seeds,2-3 dried chilies, a handful of curry leaves, Urad dal and Yellow split bean, stir and cook at medium heat for 1-2 minutes.

3. Add all the spices listed and salt, stir well and add chopped onion and cook until onion become translucent.

4. Add chopped tomato and cook until the tomatoes become soft, add the cooked rice and turn well, add frozen peas and continue to cook for 5-6 minutes.

Sprinkle some chopped coriander before serving.

1. 把basmati 米洗净加适量水煮成米饭,冷却备用。

2. 锅里倒入2 大勺的油,加入一撮阿魏胶、芥菜籽、如果喜欢辣椒干的下几只辣椒干、一把咖喱叶、加入印度黑豆瓣和黄豌豆瓣,翻炒香。

3. 转中火,加入所有香料和食盐,稍微翻炒后加入切碎的洋葱青辣椒翻炒,加入番茄丁。


4. 番茄变软之后加入米饭,翻炒匀后加入冷冻豌豆,大火继续超个3-4分钟,就好了。

起锅前加入切碎的香菜。
