Nasi Goreng (Malaysian Style fried Rice)

Nasi Goreng is very common back home in Malaysia and neighbouring country Indonesia, you can now find Nasi Goreng paste here even in the supermarket! A sign of how famous this fried rice is internationally!

I love having it with a fried egg, egg yolk half cooked (A.k.a Runny egg), its the best combination!

Ingredients:
1 cup of cold rice (left over from yesterday)
1/2 Onion
2-3 tbsp Sambal Belachan (Chili Paste)
1 egg (Fried)
1/3 cup of frozen vegetable (or fresh chopped carrots/green bean and corn)

Seasoning:
Salt or Light Soy Sauce
A pinch of pepper powder(Optional)

Others:
2-3 Shrimp cracker
few slices of cucumber and tomato

Chopped onion, and fry the egg. In a cooking pan/wok, add 2 tsp of oil, fry the onion till fragrance, add Sambal Belacan paste, stir well with little water, when the smell of Sambal starts showing, add in the cold rice, give it a good stir for another 2-3 minutes, season with salt or soy sauce.

Add frozen vegetable, mix well, when the veges are cooked, its done. Sprinkle some pepper powder before serving.

Simple and nice Nasi Goreng,it could be made in just under 10 minutes!
