Masala Chai (Tea made with Spices)

Every morning, everywhere in India, on the street, at the front yard of big mansions. People sitting with a small cup in their hands. A cuppa hot Chai, chit chatting, or simply enjoying this spicy and sweet beverage---a very common drink in India, most Indian will have this tea first thing in the morning, and 2-3 times during the day!

3 tea bags
4-5 slices of ginger (smash it lightly with the back of knife)
15 Black pepper (crush)
4-5 Cardamom
4-5 Cloves
1 cinnamon stick
Sugar to taste
3 cups of water
1/2 cup of whole milk

1. Boil together 3 cups of water with all the spices in a small saucepan, cook for 5 minutes and let the spice water sit for 10 minutes. You could make a big pot of this spice water and use it throughout the day to make tea in smaller batches.

2. Sieve spicy water into a sauce pan, add milk and sugar and bring to boil, add 3 dark/red tea bags and cook for 2-3 more minutes. Discard tea bags and serve hot!

How about a hot cuppa tea at this snowy day?
