Dry Channa Masala (Chole)

Channa (Chole)is one of our favorite legumes at home, I normally made this into curry to serve with Puri/poori. Once in a while, I like it as tasty spicy side dish, like this one.

It could be use as a starter too!

Ingredients:

2 Cups of boiled garbanzo bean/chickpea (you could use the canned version too.)
1 Medium size onion
1 Medium size tomato
2 bay leaves
1 tsp of ginger garlic paste (or 1/2 tsp of ginger paste and 1/2 tsp of garlic paste)

Seasoning:
1 tsp Cummin/Cumin seed
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Chili Powder(Reduced for lesser heat)
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp Garam Masala
1/2 tsp Salt

Grind together onion and tomato, and cook the paste with ginger garlic paste in a cooking pan until water reduced,  add 2 tbsp of oil add cumin seeds, bay leaves, stir for a minute or two until its fragrance.

Add all the seasoning powder included salt, you could add little more oil if it appears too dry.

Stir in the garbanzo bean, until every bean coated with the spices, continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, and its ready to serve!
