Lemongrass ginger tea 香茅姜茶


Changes from seasons means one could easily catch cold. A cup of lemongrass ginger tea could help to prevent sickness, in case of sickness, to ease symptoms!


换季的时候特别容易患上感冒,用新鲜或者干燥的香茅煮茶饮用,可以帮助促进血液循环放松精神。可舒缓感冒时的症状,也有预防的功效。

Ingredients:

2 Stalk of lemongrass(remove outer layer,sliced)
3-4 slices of ginger root
1 red tea bad
1 tsp honey/honey rock sugar  Optional
3-4 cups water


材料:
2根香茅 (去老皮,切片)
3-4 片老姜(切片)
1 包红茶包
1 tsp 蜂蜜/石峰糖
3-4 杯水






1. Clean, and slice ginger and lemongrass, boil both of them with 3-4 cups of water for 10 minutes at medium heat. Add a tea bag and steep for 2-3 minutes.


2. Discard ginger and lemongrass pieces, add honey/sugar if you like, you could serve it both warm and cold.


1. 把香茅和姜片清理干净,切片,加入3-4杯中火水煮10分钟。熄火后加入一个红茶包,加盖焖2-3分钟。


2. 过滤,加入蜂蜜/石峰糖,热饮暖胃,冷饮风味。

    have followed your blog(blogkaki)for almost 3 years, love it. I'm now living in Austin, TX, thinking of planting some lemongrass, do u know how to plant it, by seed? where to buy the seed?

  2. Hi Jane,

    Just buy 1-2 stalks of fresh lemongrass, soak it in water at room temperature, and change water every two days until you see roots start growing at the bottom, you can then bury it on the ground/pot to start planting!
