Paneer Paratha (Stuffed Cottage Cheese Flat bread)

Paneer, a type of Indian Cottage cheese is a very good source of protein, and well loved by Indian.

This paratha  stuffed with spiced Paneer, made it a well blend of protein and carbohydrate, thus a good breakfast choice!


For the dough:
2 cup Whole wheat flour
4/5 cup Water
a pinch of salt

200gms Paneer (Indian Cottage cheese)
1 bunch of Coriander leaves/Cilantro
2 green chilli

1/2 tsp Cummin Seeds
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
1/4 tsp Chilli powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/4 tsp Garam masala
Salt to taste

Knead flour, water and salt into a dough, leave it aside for 10 minutes. Cut paneer into small cubes.

Use a chopper to chop all ingredients including spices.

Divide dough into few ping pong balls size, roll out to about 5-6 cm in diameter, place cottage cheese in the middle, and fold it up to form a round pastry, press lightly, dust with flour, and flatten it into about 2 mm thick.

Heat up a flat cooking pan at medium heat, pan fry paratha until both sides turned golden in colour, brush a thin layer of butter when it is done.

Serve with some Homemade Chilli Pickle, yogurt and Cucumber.
