Dabeli (Indian Vegetarian Burger)


Dabeli is a type of vegetarian Burger originally from the state of Gujarat in India, and later became famous snacks in Mumbai, the state of Maharashtra, India.


It is rich in taste, and also rich in texture, it is also nice to look at, with pomegranate work like jewel on top, its simply colourful and inviting!.


Ingredients:(Yield 6)
2 Large Potatoes, boiled and mashed
1/2 cup  arils from promegranate
1/2 medium size Bombay onion
1/4 cup roasted peanuts
6 sweet bun
1 bunch of cilantro/coriander leaves
1/2 cup Sev/Indian spicy fried noodle

1 tsp cummin Seeds
1/2 stick of butter


Seasoning:
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Ketchup
1 tbsp Dabeli Masala
1/2 cup of Fresh Garlic Chutney
1/2 cup of Green/Pudina chutney





Grind together all spices for Dabeli Masala





Pudina Chutney:





Fresh Garlic Chutney:





Boiled and mashed potato, in a cooking pot, add 1tsp butter,add cummin seeds and 1tbspof chopped onion,add mashed potato, season with salt, ketchup and dabeli masala, mix well. Leave aside.


Ready to assemble. 


Halved sweet bun, spread a thin layer of butter, toast it on a pan until golden brown and crispy .



Spread both the chutneys, make the potato into a cutlet size, lay on top of the bun, add peanuts, pomegranate, pnion, coriander leaves and sev. Cover with another half of bread, its ready for a feast!
